SPOTLIGHT: Original by Greek
If your food truck has a veranda, on a 95 and sunny day, then yes, I choose you pikachu.
Whether it’s the shade, the Greek music, or the smell of grilled chicken that draws you in, Original by Greeks is a standout among the crowd of food trucks at Civic Center EATS.
What used to be a FedEx delivery truck from 1997, owner Nico converted it into a fully functioning mobile kitchen serving the flavors of Greece. The menu skews traditional with Gyros and Dolmadakias and lots of feta. Seriously, find it on every gyro, salad and even an our for Feta Fries. To be clear, I am praising, not complaining about the amount of feta found on this food truck.
This wasn’t my first time enjoying a meal from the navy blue truck. I went with my favorite, Chicken Gyro. Filled with juicy grilled chicken, onions, tomatoes, & tzatziki. Plus a not so secret ingredient of French fries. FRENCH FRIES. Now I’ve never been to Greece, but if it is traditional to put French fries in their dishes, than I need to book my one-way flight immediately.
Not only do I love the truck design and every bite I’ve had from this place, I adore their Instagram page. Filled with the normal food truck posts of where you can find them that day, you’ll also find posts of cutie pups and lost & found items looking for their owners. It melts my heart knowing how kind the folks behind Original by Greeks are.
Find Original by Greeks at Civic Center EATS on Thursdays.
